Class IV: Natural Sciences

Faculty IV brings together exponents of the biological, agricultural, forestry, veterinary, and earth sciences. The lectures given at meetings of the faculty, which are sometimes held jointly with Faculty III Science and Technology and Faculty V Medicine, usually address current interdisciplinary questions in the biological and earth sciences. In addition to being given by Polish members, lectures are also sometimes given by PAU members from abroad. The department contributes to the organisation of symposia, such as the National Conference on Cell Biology and the International School of Membrane Transport Biophysics. The work produced by the faculty includes a number of books that have appeared in series published by the History of Science Commission.
