Commission on Natural Sciences and Medicine in Wrocław
The commission was formed by a PAU Council resolution of 26 May 2009. It was initiated by the president of Wrocław, dr. Rafał Dutkiewicz, and organised and chaired by PAU member prof. dr hab. n. med. Czesław Radzikowski.
Its vice chair was Aleksandra Klimczak and its secretary Katarzyna Prosek. It began operations in October 2009.
Its premises, administrative support, and funding were provided by Wrocław City Council. The aim of its scientific and didactic meetings was to bring advances in natural science research, mainly in molecular biology and genetics, to the medical community, as well as to teachers of natural science subjects, and students and pupils in Lower Silesia. Scientists representing multidisciplinary, medicine-oriented research were invited to participate as lecturers, with a preference for scholars with an internationally recognised research record and an association with Lower Silesia. Documents relating to the 42 meetings held (invitations, biographical information on lecturers, lecture summaries, reports of meetings) and a report on the whole ten years of the commission’s existence are available at the following addresses:
