Frontiers Planet Prize

The fifth edition of the Frontiers Planet Prize competition (FPP) has been announced. More information is available at: https://www.frontiersplanetprize.org/fpp-brochure.

The Prize recognizes outstanding scientific publications from the past two years (1 November 2024–31 October 2026) that present groundbreaking and actionable solutions supporting sustainable development within planetary boundaries. Eligible papers must have been published in reputable peer-reviewed journals and should address environmental challenges in the broad sense. The authors of the winning publications will receive CHF 1 million.

Research institutions wishing to take part in the competition as National Nominating Bodies are requested to register via the competition website:

Once registered, researchers may submit their publications through the form available on the competition website. In addition, they are asked to send the article as a PDF file to the Office of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU), which serves as the National Representative Body.

From among the submissions received, the PAU Committee will select the three best papers, which will then be forwarded to the international jury of the FPP competition.

The submission deadline is 30 September 2026.
