THE MARIAN MIĘSOWICZ PRIZE

 
The Marian Mięsowicz Prize, awarded every two years for outstanding achievements in the field of physics.
Founded by Institues of Physics in Cracow.  This Prize was awarded for the first time in 1997.

LAUREATE OF 1997

Dr Władysław Wolter for the work: Investigations of Bremsstrahlung of Electrons in the Energy Interval (1011 - 1012) eV, Il Nuovo Cimento XI (1959) 525, including pioneering measurements of electro-photon cascades.

 


LAUREATES OF 1999

Dr hab. Piotr Bizoń, Dr Tadeusz Chmaj for the work: Critical Behavior in Gravitational Collapse of a Yang-Mills Field.

 


LAUREATE OF 2001

Dr Krzysztof Golec-Biernat for the work by K. Golec-Biernat and M. Wüsthoff, Saturation effects in deep inelastic scattering at low Q² and its implications on diffraction, Physical Review D 59 (1998) 014017.

 


LAUREATES OF 2003

Prof. dr hab. Stanisław Jadach for the work: BHWIDE 1.00: Ο (α) YFS exponentiated Monte Carlo for Bhabha scattering at wide angles for LEP1/SLC and LEP2.

 


LAUREATES OF 2005

Prof. dr. hab. Piotr Chankowski for the work Renormalization group equation for seesaw neutrino masses published at the Physics Letters B 316 (1993) 321.

 


LAUREATE OF 2007

Prof. dr. hab. Marek Jeżabek for the work QCD Corrections to Semileptonic Decays of Heavy Quarks published at the Nuclear Physics B 314 (1989).
